One of the few scenes that I cut from Young Frankenstein was a walk down a New York street, which was really on the Fox lot, in which Richard Haydn’s character, Herr Falkstein, explains the contents of Dr. Frankenstein’s great-grandfather’s will. I thought to myself, “Hey, Mel, we can find all of this out later. We don’t need to spend time with this whole scene.”
